Long time ago, there was a kingdom called "Kahuripan".The king was Sri Baginda Erlangga. He was so upset. He knew that so many people were suffering from a mysterious illness.
In another place, there was a woman. Her name was Serat Asih. People called her Calon Arang. She was the one who made this illness. She was a witch. She used her magic spell to spread the mysterious illness to people in Kahuripan.
The black spirits covered Kahuripan. People were suffering. They were threathining by the mysterious illness. And the king could not do anything. Soon, he found out the cause. His prime minister told himthat Calon Arang was the onne who did it. The king asked his troops to catch ang kill calon arang. "hahaha...what will you do stupid people? you are only a piece of cake. You're nothing for me. Will you kill me ha? will you1?" callenged Calon Arang. A soldier took his long and sword. He will kill Calon Arang with his sword.. "oh no..what a sharp sword you are holding on my darling. I'm scared. hahahaha...." said Calon Arang with a cynical laughter.
The soldier took his sword and cut Calon Arang's head through. Amazingly, she did not die. The head came back to the body again after falling to the ground. It's magic.
The king was getting frustrated. why were nobody able to kill Calon Arang. then his prime minister advised him to meet Empu Bharada. Empu Bharada was a hermit. he had a great supernatural power. he was alsoCalon Arang's cousin. Empu Bharada accepted the king's order to kill Calon Arang. since he knew the weakness of Calon Arang.
At home, Empu Bharada called his pupil, Bahula. "my dear Bahula, we have to finish this mess. we will kill Calon Arang." said Empu Bharada. "but how, Empu?" asked Bahula. "you should marry her daughter. then you can live with them. steal her magical book. it is her weakness." explained Empu Bharada. "but where is the book, master?" asked Bahula enthusiatically. "oh..it must be in Calon Arang's room, find it there!" ordered Empu Bharada. "I'll do my master." answered Bahula.
the next day, Bahula set off to Girah village. he proposed Ratna Manggali. suspecting nothing, CalonArang accepted Bahula proposal to her daughter. Bahula married with Ratna Manggali afterwards.since then, he lived in Calon Arang's house.
one night, when everyone in the house was sound a sleep. Bahula tiptoed into Calon Arang's room very carefully. inside, he found a wooden box. he took the box and walked back into his room. he opened up the box. there was the old ragged book of secrets.
early in the morning, Bahula asked permission to Calon Arang and Ratnamanggali tp go to his village. Calon Arang let him go. but she did not realize what was going on.
by the time Calon Arang found out that her book was gone. "where is my book....?" cried Calon Arang angrily. Bahula gave the book to Empu Bharada. "here is the book we are looking for,Bahula" said Empu Bharada. some time latter Empu Bharada mumbled. the book turned into a weapon. it was called Kris Weling Putih.
Calon Arang knew that Bahula had stolen her magical book.surpresingly, she also met Empu Bharada, her relative.
Empu Bharada pushed keris weling putih to calon arang's body strongly. the wicked witch died inthe hand of empu bharada.
finally, the mysterious illness had gone away in kahuripan. all people can live happily.
